 Liceul Tehnologic "Stefan Hell" Sântana

The Technological high school "Stefan Hell" in the city of Sântana, continues the 265-year tradition of the Santanean education. The educational process is carried out in Romanian and German-as mother tongue for some students-, while the modern languages taught are German, English and French.

We educate students from Sântana as well as from the neighbouring rural areas: Olari, Caporal Alexa, Zărand, Seleuș, Pâncota, Curtici (students commute or are offered accomodation in our school hostel). The institution includes preschool, primary, secondary and high school education – with the following profiles: Technician in economic activities, Mechanical Technician for Maintenance and Repair and Social Sciences. The total number of staff is 97 and the total number of learners is 949. The interculturalism is obvious in all the educational activities; our teachers and students are willing to participate in continuous national and European training and we also have a multi-ethnic school population. Also, 35% of the students come from rural areas; a large number of students have special educational requirements (50) and more than 60 students are institutionalized;

Many students return to school after studying for years in other countries or were born, raised and educated there (their parents went to other European countries to work) while other students have parents who have gone abroad and are left in the care of their relatives. Starting from the school’s vision, the main strategic targets undertaken by the Technological High School Stefan Hell Santana in PAS 2020-2024 are:

  • building an effective management structure
  • assuring the quality of the education services, guidance and counselling
  • motivating teachers and students to get involved in international projects
  • value the projects and the activities carried out in order to increase the multiplier effect and added value at the institutional level
  • developing partnerships with other schools at the local, national and European level
  • better integration of school graduates into the labor market
  • preventing and reducing school drop-out
  • ensuring the access to education and equal opportunities for students from all social categories and ethnic groups.
The key staff/persons involved have good English skills knowledge and are hardworking and reliable; they work permanently in school and are involved in local, national and international projects.
